Guidelines

Panelist's data is entirely user-contributed and scraper-sourced — there's no editorial staff curating it. This page explains where the data comes from, how to add or correct it, and what we expect from anyone doing so.

Where the data comes from

Bedetheque is the primary source for every series and album — its own cataloguers are the closest thing we have to an authoritative record. ComicVine, where linked, only fills in fields Bedetheque left blank (currently publisher and cover image); it never overrides a value Bedetheque already gives. If you're correcting a field yourself, prefer the same kind of source: the publisher's own site, the album's on-page credits, or Bedetheque/ComicVine themselves — not a fan wiki or a guess.

How to contribute

Sign in and these become available directly on a series or album page:

• Suggest an edit — title, genre, status, language, publisher, or cover image on a series. This applies immediately (no queue), but every change is logged with who made it and what it replaced, and can be reverted just as easily. Treat this like editing a wiki: fix what's actually wrong, don't guess.
• Add or suggest a series — a series already known to Bedetheque can be self-listed straight into Browse with no review (it's independently verifiable — the source record already exists). A series that exists nowhere we scrape can be submitted as a fully custom entry instead; those go into a queue an admin approves or rejects before they're listed.
• Upload images — a poster, logo, and (for series) backdrop. Uploads default to pending review before they're shown anywhere; more than one candidate can exist for the same slot, and reviewers pick which is active. An admin can mark a specific account as a trusted uploader, whose uploads go live immediately instead of queuing.
• Report an issue — flag a series or album as a duplicate, incorrect, or carrying a bad image, with a short note. An admin reviews and resolves it by hand; reporting itself doesn't change anything.

Code of conduct

• Be respectful — disagree with an edit, not with the person.
• Edit to correct data, not to make a point. Don't submit deliberately wrong fields, blank out good data, or upload off-topic/offensive images.
• Don't use edits, image uploads, or profile fields as ad space.
• If you're unsure whether a change is right, it's fine to leave it — a stale field beats a confidently wrong one.
• A field that keeps flip-flopping between editors can be locked by an admin until it's settled — see the 🔒 marker on the edit form.

Account standing

Every account is an editor by default, which is enough to suggest edits, list known series, and upload images. Admins can promote an account to trusted uploader, and — for accounts that repeatedly submit bad-faith edits or uploads — suspend (ban) the account entirely.

Coming soon

A few things TMDB-style contribution guidelines usually cover aren't built yet, so we're not pretending they exist:

• Merging two duplicate entries — reporting one flags it for an admin (see above), but combining their data isn't automated yet.
